About Us

The property lies within the 45 acre of Bhadrakali Devarukadu, named after the deity of the adjoining temple. Spread over 10 Acres of Coffee and Pepper Plantation, with deep lush greenery, the property also is blessed with a beautiful view of the Western Ghats, as it is situate at the bottom part of the valley and hence, the property was named Parvati Valley Estates. As Homestay with birding in Coorg we also have set up Birding Hides in the property. The Malabar Grey Hornbills are our morning alarm announcing the start of the day, inspiring us to name our home "The Hornbills Nest".

Bird Photography Activity

Kiran Poonacha, being an enthusiastic birder and wildlife photographer, has set up observatories ( Birding Hides) where one can enjoy seeing many birds and small animals at close quarters . These observatories give great opportunities to photograph many species of the Western Ghats here. As The birdlife in and around the property and the Devarakadu is very diverse we are a would like to say that we are a Homestay with birding in Coorg.

We have 4 observatories for birding

(Hides like some say )

2 are feeders - one for morning photography and the other for evening photography

1 is a water observatory generally evening with good opportunities to make some reflection shots of some birds that come to bathe,

And the most recent addition is a Parakeet Observatory.

Apart from the birding observatories we also have some trails that you can walk around in the estate that can also present many more opportunities for birding.

As our property touches the Devarakadu ( Gods Forest ) on one side we also have a lot of opportunities for macro photography of butterflies, insects, frogs, snakes etc depending on your interest, focus and most importantly luck on the trip.

Please Note

All guests must take care not to litter or damage the premises & surroundings of the home stay.
The package, is including all meals other than some snacks if required will have to be ordered by the guests in advance.
For transport to and from Hornbills nest we can make your arrangements depending on where you are travelling from at an additional cost.

Booking of single guest per night in the double room-

Package - A - King size @8500/- INR and

Three bedrooms can accommodate one person extra each if required charges below
Extra Person in a room above the age of ten, for each day would be charged including all meals

Package B - @5500/- INR per day

Any type of extra bed is upon request and needs to be confirmed to us at the time of booking.
Children below eight years of Age are not chargeable.
Children age of eight - ten charged at 50% .
Check in Time is preferably at 12.30 p.m. as the check-out time is 10.30 a.m everyday
Bookings will be confirmed on payment of minimum 50% , the balance to be deposited

10 DAYS prior to the booking date. As per norms include mandatory mobile check- ins and check outs, cashless payments.

Refund of the advance

is 100% - 10 days before your booking date

50% till 10 days of the booking date and nil after that.

Making Memories

Hornbills Nest our home-stay in Coorg was designed to be a getaway from the city to recharge ourselves by just waking up to the early morning misty valley with a cup of tea to ending it around a nice inviting campfire. This is the place where we have experienced some great memories with nature and beautiful beings around our property. Bird Watching, butterflies migrate by the hundreds across the valley or just enjoying viewing the milky way while lying down on the lawn at night as the fireflies dart in and out of your vision is an experience like no other. So, we extend the invitation to you and your loved ones to come and experience this magical valley with us.

A weekend getaway here can bring you closer to nature if you decide to walk around through the coffee estates or make the most of the blessings of having untapped nature around, the experience of sometimes a visit to streams close by that are inhabited with the endangered Waynad Masheers that live in them is a refreshing feel.

Should you like to, on prior booking, we have a few places close by that have a breath-taking view of the Western Ghats. An early morning drive at an extra charge along with our person including a packed breakfast that will be served on a picturesque picnic spot after the drive is a must do.

Unwind in the evening around the campfire.. a must experience during your stay.
